dsh-better-sidebar

Adds file editing, Git views, task monitoring and side chats to DeepSeek Harness. An extensible sidebar and split bottom workbench keep files, terminals and agent activity beside the conversation.

Introduction

Reviewing an agent's work often means switching between its conversation, changed files and running processes. Bringing these surfaces into one workspace makes the handoff between generated changes and human review easier to follow. The extension API also lets other plugins join that workspace.

What Sets It Apart
  • An editable CodeMirror view and file previews let users inspect and adjust outputs alongside the agent.
  • Git change groups and a read-only commit graph connect the current work with repository history.
  • Subagent topology and background-task output make parallel work visible; side chats support separate follow-up threads.
  • Third-party tabs and file viewers use the same service as the built-in panels, giving the workbench room to grow.
Who It Suits and the Trade-offs

A good fit for DSH users who review code and monitor several tasks from the Web workspace. Match plugin releases to the host version: their latest package tags can target different compatibility lines. Terminal availability depends on the host, and Git push, pull and fetch require other tooling.
